L’intérêt d’Adam ouvrira la 64e Semaine de la Critique, à Cannes en 2025. Il s’agit de la deuxième réalisation de la cinéaste belge Laura Wandel, 5 ans après Un monde (2011) qui avait été récompensé de sept Magritte en 2022. L’autrice avait pour ce film également remporté le prix FIPRESCI à l’occasion de sa présentation à Cannes dans la catégorie Un Certain Regard.

Synopsis : Adam, 4 ans, est hospitalisé pour malnutrition à la suite d’une décision de justice. Lucy, l’infirmière en chef autorise la mère d’Adam à rester auprès de son fils au-delà des heures de visite fixées par le juge. Mais la situation se complique quand celle-ci refuse une nouvelle fois de quitter son fils. Dans l’intérêt de l’enfant, Lucy fera tout pour venir en aide à cette mère en détresse.
